and she dreams...
of distant kisses
wishing they were near
while he speaks of
dances beneath the stars
with lovers words sincere

she cannot know
the thoughts that tumble
save for those he lends
she tries to restain
the flutter, the stutter--
she knows the rules she bends

and he dreams...
of distant kisses
and winks without a word
subtle suggestions
carry his clues
and he hopes that she has heard

longing fills them
with each line
as they pen with poets hue
passion's kiss
near fatal miss
a dream to tell--it was you...

Oh damn, I hate to get obnoxious with my personal stuff, but this one is forcing me
This is EXACTLY what was going on in my life, and then later, when we were together, he took it all away.   Sure enough to shatter a lot of romantic illusions.
Sorry, had to express that. This is a fantastic writing, and it brings those feelings in loud and clear..Wow. Good luck if this is you, I hope it turns out happy for you.

What's the old saying....if you don't bet you can't win. Of course you could lose big time or just lose your shirt. heck lose all your clothes. So is that what the saying means if you bet you could lose all your clothes.... so I don't see the problem?.

Anyway love, remember be good, but not too good. You knew I'd love this didn't you? Yes I know!!

Dee love, only if you want to hook up to a star, mind you you know how jealous stars get when one outshines them. No kid you stay here, and beam away. I did tell you I love this didn't I? You know what my head is like, well if I didn't, I love it, and if I did well then I did.
Take care

he reads. . .
and hears the music begin
he tells her to take that chance
for love only happens when we listen

Excellent dg. . . we all have danced that dance. . . sometimes we don't know the steps. . . but it's the learning that makes it worthwhile. . .

And if that doesn't work. . . you could always listen to Parker!  LOL

DG,

Wonderful piece you have penned.  So full of love and longing.  Very romantic and beautiful.
