If I were but a poet,
...I'd pen about a Rose,
The fairest flower of them all,
...that in the garden grows,
Satin petals smooth as silk,
...with scent of fragrant wine,
Crimsoned bloom in fading sun,
...aglow in vespertine,
Cool tender kiss of evening's breeze,
...upon my weathered brow,
If I were but a poet,
...I'd to a Rose avow,
To sing to her love's madrigal,
...an ode to beauty rare,
A symphony to flower dear,
...a Rose beyond compare,
I'd take her gently in my arms,
...as gazed into her eyes,
Whisper softly, I love you,
...beneath the welkin skies,
If I were but a poet,
...I'd write sweet verse to you,
With voice of golden nightengale,
...I'd make sweet love to you.

exceptional one at that..
and NO ONE does the Rose... the justice and grace you do ..
this is exquisite .. and now in my library to grow with all your other roses ...
