The Grass Is Greener ?? These flights of fancy cross your mind What are you doing? You must be blind! Greener grass in pasture yonder? On this your mind begins to ponder Prisms reflect through misty eyes Rainbows arching over bluer skies Velvet carpet in emerald green Whilst about your feet, yellow is seen Yearning for the milk and honey Finding a place where days are sunny Longing clutched by a confused heart Stepping to the fence, you make a start Tentative tread with unsure goals Do greener grasses fill empty holes? Shoulders shrugged you approach the field Your heart says ‘go’ but your mind says ‘yield’ Paths snake ahead with unknown end Never knowing what’s around the bend Which way is right? Which way is best? A double-mind cannot find its rest Droughts then flooding are often seen Not much is needed to make grass green With tender touch and words so sweet Green grass is growing under your feet. |

Wonderful Linda! I love this phrase, and you've expanded on it just so beautifully. Temptations surround us daily, and yet, do we truly see what beauty grows on "both" sides of the fence ... I loved these ponderous thoughts! ![]() Best wishes, /Kit |

Linda~ Somehow in the night - this lovely pen slipped by me - What sweet words of wisdom it holds - 'Not much is needed to make grass green With tender touch and words so sweet Green grass is growing under your feet.' Terrific thoughts ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Very nice, Linda. My grandma used to say "The grass is always greener wherever there's more manure"....she was a smart old gal ![]() |

yes, a lovely poem about the beauty of the grass, and we all take it for granted sometimes, some great lines here! "When red-haired girls scamper like roses over the rain-green grass, and the sun drips honey."" Laurie Lee Kathleen |
