Inexorable  (Minor revision of a 2/99 poem)

Like planetary movement
Circumscribing its star
Like the tectonic plate shift
From the pressure built beneath it
Forces are in motion that are far
Beyond our control

Attempts to conclude the destinies
Here can be compared to
Guessing the path of a photon
Through shards of broken silvered glass
Randomly fallen when the mirror's been broken

But move on it flies as time
Itself rolls on
So too are we impelled
If we have any mastery at all
Of our course
So too must we
If we have any knowledge at all
Of our passions

Thus God, like the physicist
Master of the cyclotron
Guiding my photon destiny
Master of the passion impelling
This photon on its way
Pursuing you, my heart's desire
The cataclysmic conjunction
Brings forth a fiery display
Not seen since Krakatoa's peak
Breached and was heard round the world

~You have to have a dream so you can get up in the morning.

I second that WOW! Incredible imagery in this Wilfred ... I love the cosmic proportions of your comparisons in this piece, excellent!

Best wishes,

Bill...What a great comparison...and your imagery is fantastic...especially liked...

Guessing the path of a photon
Through shards of broken silvered glass
Randomly fallen when the mirror's been broken

But move on it flies as time
Itself rolls on
So too are we impelled

Wonderfully done!
