The question of time < !signature-->It is always puzzling People don't have time To sit and let time go by. Each and every minute should be a gift But it's, just a breathing space Between two other minutes. Every single minute ought to be full Of happiness, silence or some real feeling. It does not matter, so long as it is full. People no longer have time To have real feelings. The important thing is to think Of time as a gift And not as an arrow [This message has been edited by Daniel J D (edited 10-13-2000).] |

I know 60 seconds = 1 minute; 60 minutes = 1 hour 24 hours = 1 day; 365 days = 1 year And I realize that as each year passes, I get older and older. However, the years are coming at me at such a great velocity, I am inclined to raise my hands to heaven and demand a recount. |

JD~ Wonderful thoughts ! I've often said that we don't 'find the time - we need to make the time !' Those minutes pass quickly by us if we do not. Excellent reminder of the value in a minute. And another little thought of mine - 'I count the seconds in a minute of a day that has you in it ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

This is wonderful work...so thought provoking...time...the one thing we are all given...some not as much as others but still...and what we do with it determines how the world looks at us...do we take the time to appreciate all we have? Do we give the time to those we love? Or do we selfishly horde all those minutes spending them on work...or pursuits that gain nothing. |

Paula, I guess you are so right that we do not seem to have time for the most important things in life. Comprehension of our existence is the fundamental problem, not many of us know who we really are. Daniel- oh yes...how true this is, my friend. too often, before we know it the minutes become hours and the hours become days and so on...and we have wasted way too much time...thank you for this reminder to slow down and enjoy the time we have -vicky "...until you have read the verse on his heart, you have not truely met the poet." -vlraynes |

'But it's just a breathing space Between two other minutes.' Unfortunately, I am guilty of this exact thing. Lately, I have been trying to appreciate every moment I am given. Trying being the key word here. Excellent write, my friend!! sp Of all sad words of tongue or pen, the saddest are these: 'it might have been.' -John Greenleaf Whittier |

Thought provoking indeed, every now and then we need something like this to ponder. Well done! "The heart and soul have no illusion of boundries when friendship is the quest" ~ My Angel. |

Daniel, Wonderful piece with a great message here. We always have the time if we choose to . . . but, then again we need to stop every now and then and smell the roses too!! Lone Wolf Poetry should surprise by fine excess...it should strike the reader as a wording of his own highest thoughts and appear almost a remembrance. -J.Keats |

Victoria, snowpants, Alle'cram, Eagleone, Lone Wolf, and Ron, Thank you all for your replies. It is never easy to admit that many of us let time go by. We(I use this rather deliberately) need to make time for the things we always leave until tomorrow, for tomorrow may never come. As Bob Dylan once wrote "Tomorrow is a long Time". Daniel, I so agree. My time is full of pain, or love, or both, most always. Usually a combination of the two. So important though, to take each moment and enjoy it if we can. If you know how to do that, tell me, quick! Sandra |

So many times we spend those "down" moments thinking of what we have to do next instead of enjoying that moment....each second is a precious gift..thank you for that reminder Daniel. Great writing~ |
