How was your day? Each night you ask me “How was your day?” I reply with answers you want me to say I woke this morning switched on the Television And saw 200 people had been killed for religion I walked through town, saw people without homes, And others’ in suits talking on their mobile phones Some people must beg in order to survive Yet you, me & others we take for granted, our lives The things I see sicken me inside Yet there’s nothing I can do, but get on with my life These thousands of people they starve whilst outdoors And you ask me how my day was? “It was fine, how was yours?” ~~Steve~~ June 2000 ~~Steve ~~ |

Steve-Very poignant. It is so easy for us sometimes to forget about others less fortunate than ourselves, thank you for reminding me. |

Steve. Good poem. Isn't it amazing how much those three little words "It was fine" can say. Be well Kethry Growth demands a temporary surrender of security. Gail Sheehy |

homeless and hungry in need of a helping hand the people pass by sorry, didn't see you there sorry, don't have time to care -vlraynes Steve- wow...such truth in this. Too often we go about our business, and block out those who need our help; and then we go home and say our day was just fine. This really touches a chord with me. Thanks for sharing this. -vicky < !signature--> "...until you have read the verse on his heart, you have not truely met the poet." -vlraynes [This message has been edited by vlraynes (edited 10-10-2000).] |
