Ten Thousand Ten thousand pats upon the back Ten thousand words of cheer Ten thousand times she lifted up Our spirits through the year Ten thousand gestures out of love Ten thousand pretty smiles Ten thousand times she made it seem The effort so worthwhile Ten thousand words of encouragement Ten thousand compliments Ten thousand ways to show she cares About her poet friends Ten thousand ‘wows”, ten thousand “great”s Ten thousand times “well done” Ten thousand ways that she’s embraced The hearts that she has won So here’s to you, my dear Denise Ten thousand hugs, my friend Ten thousand "thank you's" from the heart For all the hearts you mend I can’t imagine any morning If I were to arise Without Denise’s smiling face And blue of Irish eyes She’s always here, she’s always there With lovely warming chimes She’s shown us all the contents of her heart Ten thousand times Thank You, Denise and Congratulations Love you, Liz [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 05-01-2000).] |

Thank you, Elizabeth, you are a very special friend to have written such a beautiful poem for me. I am typing this through tears of joy. I am truly touched by this, to know that I have touched you and so many others with my simple comments. I have printed this out and I will keep it with the other poems of yours that you gave to me when we had lunch that day. I am honored to have you as a friend. Also, I wanted to add that lately I have not been able to read and comment on all the poems, as I used to do, due to the fact that Passions grows busier every day. Thank you all for your comments. I think I might be the only one, or one of very few who have met Denise personally (since we live only an hour away), and she is as lovely as she can be. You can just imagine from her presence here on the forum. She is very giving and very warm and I am priviledged to call her friend, and Denise, when are you coming over? Thanks again, everyone Liz |

Thank you, Liz, I'd love to come over soon, that's for sure! Without the car during the week it would have to be a Saturday or Sunday morning. If I get the courage to use the Schuylkill Expressway (I'm leery of it after a few near misses..or should I say near 'hits'?) it should take me about an hour. If I take the back roads (my husband can probably map it out for me) it may take closer to two hours. But, I'll e-mail you to set a date that will be good for you! Can't wait! It's been too long! Liz, I can tell you have that ole proverbial "heart of gold". That was a very sweet and kind gesture to write a poem for Denise. And WOW!!! 10,000 posts is an accomplishment worthy of such a poem. |
