ran across this poem in an old old book unknown author thought I'd share it with everyone  Hunting de Wily Pole Cat ~~~  I'm hunt de bear I'm hunt de cat some times I'm hunt musk rat Las week I'm tak de ax an go to hunt de skunk pole cat ~ Ma frien Bill says hees ver good fur same time ver good for eat So I'm tell ma wife I'm get fur coat same time I'm get some meat ~ I'm walk one two three four mile I'm fine one awful smell I'm tink dat skunk hees gon an died an fur coats gon to hal ~ Bym - by I'm sneak ver ver close I'm raise de ax up high Dat sneakin skunk point tail ma way spit someting in ma eye ~ Sacre bleu I'm tink am bline gee cri I'm cannot see I'm run aroun an roun an roun til bump in gad dum tree ~ Bym - by I'm drop de ax an lite out for de shack I'm tink about a milium skunk dem clime upon ma back ~ Ma wife she meet me at de door she sic on me de dog She say you no sleep here tonite go out an sleep wit hog ~ I'm try to get in hog pen gee cri now what you tink Dat gad dum hog no stan fer dat on account dis awful stink ~ So I'm no hunt de skunk no more no want hees fur an meat cus if hees spit hees stink so bad Gee cri what if hees sheet ~~~ ... no offence intended ... ... to anyone who speaks in broken english ... this was a nightmare in the spell check [This message has been edited by Rex Allen McCoy (edited 04-29-2000).] |
