She walks down the broken sidewalk her head a straight line to the stars She misses nothing never avoiding the painful eyes of the homeless child or lonely storekeeper or lost mind touched by God As she breathes her open heart looks around constantly gathering all the space around her and claiming it as her own Watching her I sip a lukewarm latté at the corner café and realize I want to be her [This message has been edited by DiObear (edited 05-01-2000).] |

I am always watching people like this, loved the way you described her and the end was great...loved these lines.... constantly gathering all the space around her and claiming it as her own |

Serenity and James --- thanks for the comments. Martie --- the lines you highlighted were the words that started the poem. Thanks for noticing. DiObear |

DiObear~ This is absolutely charming. As an avid 'people-watcher' I'm convinced that I've also seen 'The Angel'. Beautiful, hon. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |
