Welcome to the land of sex and drugs. Please take condom and needle as you pass the wilting tree. Please insert condom and needle in appropriate places as needed. Please don't show your need. Please don't be weak. Please don't seek for truth or other painted-up liars' fortunes. Welcome to the land of hex and bugs. Spells and insects in your music (check the buzz). I see what you want to do with me and I don't want your crutched-up words hobbling for meaning. Desire, l-u-s-t, desire. (take the ribbon) I'm sickened by what I see. I'll be overjoyed if you can break free. I'll be happy if I join you, too. But if I don't, I'll go on without you. And if you do die, I will break free. And if we both die, c'est la vie. I'm not even exactly sure what this means. But feel free to label it just another crazy dream. Feel free to wave away the steam, lick away the cream, beat away the lean awkward phases of growing up and away from your masking taped faces. A change of place is what you need. I see, before you, an empty row of metal ants Broken and reshaped as empty rows of chairs. Fill them. Say something, quick. Everyone is watching you fail. |

I really like the message of the first stanza and I think I get the jest of the second and third....I need a little help with those metal ants tho? I see the influences of images of media around you as in so many of yours. very cool BSQ...love the "dont show your need" line. Once again the thing I love most about your poetry is that it makes me think... makes me try to see things thru your minds eye. things are so much more interesting from your view ![]() ~as always, Take Care,JM~ -------------- I know it's been a long road To get these towns behind me and I Will gladly reap what we may sow-- I am there for you ... and you're there for me ... Are you waiting for Heart in hand Woman and man See me where I stand I am Heart Heart in hand ~vertical horizon~ |

squirrel ------wow what a harsh poem and so full of message. Some I can't understand as like,JM don't know what ants are. For a second I thought it was bug spray to make crank. c'est la vie. basically translates into It is the life. This is strong message to send to those that need to get away from drugs, and harsh mistakes that the young get involved with. Thanks! Take care, netswan |

jm, Thanks for reading. I'm not even going to try to explain this one. netswan, I realize, in literal translation, "c'est la vie" means "It is the life." But it's also entered English vernacular to just mean "That's life." Things don't always translate well from language to language -- you "push the mushroom" while I "put the pedal to the metal." See, doesn't really compute together. serenity, I'm fine. Really. Mike |
