The ocean plays its rhythm sweet and low And floods my soul again with peacefulness Transporting me to shores of long ago On cresting waves of joy and happiness. I drink in memories of childhood Immerse myself in innocence and glee In carefree days where it was understood Imagination was reality. Grand castles made of sand housed ladies fair And gallant knights were always close at hand To battle dragons, banish every care Preserving honor far across the land. I loved this one, particularly the lines. "I drink in memories of childhood Immerse myself in innocence and glee" Such a wonderful epitome of reality and the truth of getting old and wanting to cling on to childhood, innocence, and bliss.. denise - I didn't want to miss this day, and I did, because I was out of town for the weekend... Congratulations. Checked it out and saw that you've posted 177 originating posts - 177 times you've shared your soul in either a profound poem or your admirable way of getting out your beliefs. So aside from those 177 times, the rest of it comes from your interaction with all of us here. I always look forward to see if denise has read one of my pieces...many of us do...for you always have kind and thoughtful things to say. You don't just post "good job"...no, you kindly pick out the best of the poems and comment on the CONTENT!
