I love you

To share a meal for two by candlelight
And simple soothing celtic melodies
One calm and peaceful, quiet Summer's night
Provides these nearly perfect remedies.
The secrets of our love laid bare at last
Sensations ever hidden now exposed,
We love as perfect lovers, hard and fast
As intimate as ever we supposed.
And then her silken cheek against my breast
We nestle warm and sheltered in our bed.
Our legs entangled sweetly as we rest
Contented in the joy our hearts have bred.

As in the morrow's light I feel her near,
I cherish her with feelings most severe.

OH MAN...*SIGH*

wow..you get me everytime with these...
you write devotion divinely...
love your sonnets...
and btw...I've been doing some sonnet research,
in hopes of writing one of these gems...
and I printed out your
"My Eyes"...
it still gets to me everytime I read it...
one of the best poems ever...
just wanted to tell ya that...(smile)
take care, jm

Is it too much to find an answer,
Is it too much to hold you close.
Is it too much to find a reason,
Is it too much to free my soul --
From self control ...
And I know you're always waiting for me ...
You take me far away,
And I know you're holding me ...
And it's better now ...

Naturally, the title caught me, but the poem took me gently into my own thoughts and that was a beautiful place to bring me with your lovely words.  Thank you!

It's just wonderful to find a well written and finely crafted sonnet, on an age old theme, with a fresh delivery, by an intensely romantic man... This is great, David...
