The Wanderer

The journey begun, destination unknown
A sea of confusion and I stand alone.
No guide by my side, endless miles lay ahead,
Will this mystery be solved before I am dead?

Which path do I choose, which unknown street?
So many choices are thrust at my feet.
The road beckons, it calls out my name,
What choice do I have but to play this cruel game?

So sad is my plight, If only they knew,
The loneliness I feel, my heart so blue.
This journey is so hard, one very tough task,
Yet answers I seek, is that so much to ask?

It looked so long that I would be on my own,
No one to share my journey home.
But lady luck smiled and sang me a tune,
And I followed her path which led to your room.

Why did I stop, what made me stay,
Was I in need of a smile that day?
Whatever the reason of this I am sure,
Your kindness and gentleness, a perfect cure.

You showed me resolve and inner peace,
Traits I lacked, but longingly seeked.
I hope one day to achieve this goal,
To be like you, one of life's gentle souls.

Well I am back on the path, after a short stay.
So much richer in life for having met you this day.
Though the miles still long, I am no longer alone,
A new friend by my side as I work my way home.

THE END

Just when you need that "special someone" to help you along your way in life, help you find the right path again, you look and it seem no one cares, but then...BOOM..all of a sudden they are sent to you as if sent by Heaven to make your life a much better one....know what I mean?  Very nice poem!
