You bent my will; Yet I did not break. You tried to shape me To fit your needs; Though I did not conform. Flattened in your grasp, My edges became tattered Until frustrated, You tossed me aside Leaving me shapeless. But the Master Had greater plans than you And enfolded in the hands of love, I became a swan. < !signature--> To love means never to be afraid of the windstorms of life: should you shield the canyons from the windstorms you would never see the true beauty of their carvings. ~Elizabeth Kubler-Ross [This message has been edited by hoot_owl_rn (edited 04-17-2000).] |

Hoot~ Being a true admirer of Origami ... your poem is perfectly crafted to create the exact image. You do possess the grace and the beauty of the swan. This is so unique. I just adore it. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I love it... One of my kids.. a very bright Japanese one... made me an origami swan and laminated it into a bookmark for a Christmas gift... and your poem enfolds those sentiments beautifully - I love it, I love it, I love it... |

Fabulous. Structure befitting of subject. Stikingly simplistic and easy to read. Modern " Fireside" poetry. ~If eyes were made for seeing, then Beauty is its own excuse for Being~ RW Emerson " I'll paint you mornings of gold, Ill spin you valentine evenings..." *JARETH* |

My God, Ruth, how do you do it again and again, this poem is absolutely beautiful! You are a true gem and a priceless member of this forum. I loved the twist at the end, the last line "and enfolded in the hands of love, I became a swan." Beautiful. Take care, Melissa Honeybee |

Ruth, I stand in awe. You have such a talent for twisting your pain into our pleasure. A swan is indeed a perfect choice but I was expecting a "Wise Owl." INclan |

Ruth, I must wholeheartedly agree with White_Knight -- and the most beautious swan the heart has ever beheld, to boot! My dear, this was wonderful! Have a great day - talk to you soon! ~you reached inside, you touched my heart, and I am all the better for it~ Terry A. Woodson, Jr. |
