So many times throughout my life
A woman caught my eye,
But for fear of pain or strife
I allowed her to pass by.

I never spoke a single word
Nor made a single cry
No sound although it seems ubsurd
I allowed her to pass by.

My life it seems was full enough
Without the need to try
To fill it with a woman's love
I allowed her to pass by.

Time and time again it seemed
A beauty I would spy
But let her slip like distant dream
I allowed her to pass by.

Then one day I met my wife
And time stood still and dry
She took away my pain and strife
By refusing to pass by.

Knowlege tempered by wisdom...Wisdom tamed by youth.

VERY VERY sweet...
how lovely this declaration of love is.
very well written...
loved the "passing by" theme.
perfect.
take care, jm

Well the sun sets gently on your shoulders
And it makes me want to touch you there.
And the light in your eyes makes me feel
Like there's something much better out there
Something kind...
And I know someday I might be looking around
Trying to find some purpose
Well purpose it can't be that hard to find
As long as I've got the wind...
The wind and your love to carry me.

That she "refused" to pass by made your storytelling a treasure, in my mind. Wonderful.

The lady you married has a good eye
wasn't about to pass you by
knows a good man is hard to find
and you were prince charming in her mind

now your married to a wonderful wife
a loving companion for the rest of your life
not another night will you have to cry
cause this special woman didn't pass you by

Enjoyed your poem RSE~~~~~~~~~~~~

Thank you all for your comments.  I just wonder if there are any ladies out there who were passed by themselves....
