It's difficult to say from a guy's point of view, But I'll make an attempt to be somewhat true! I think a woman would like a big smile, Friendly, perpetual, lasting a while; I think that she also would like some care In times of need, everywhen, everywhere; I think she'd like comfort when she's a wreck... Or maybe, for shopping, a rather large check? Please forgive me ladies because I've been so late, In responding to this thread and making all you wait. I've read each well written verse, and now I understand, The traits women want most of all when they think of men. So with this new found knowledge, I can speak for each man here, For once I was a blind man, and now I see so clear. So sit back men, I'll speak for you when I say I comprehend, Everything the girls said here about what it takes to be a man. A woman wants a man to be there when she needs to cry, But she wants to cry alone, and not to be asked, "Why?" A woman wants a man to say, "It's going to be alright, "I'll fix those problems for you dear. See? There's no need to cry." She wants a man to listen while she villifies and vents, And then respond to her silly anger with flowery compliments. She wants a man to be the silent type, and talk to her all night, And tell her whenever she's really wrong, that she's really right. A woman wants a man who'll dance beneathe the moon and stars, But only to his favorite songs about 18-wheelers and cars. She wants a man who laughs out loud and plays the loutish fool, A man who won't hold her hand when he thinks it isn't cool. A woman wants a real brave man who can, with fearless smile, Walk with his head held high down the Feminine Products aisle. A man who knows it isn't safe to look in a woman's purse, During those "special" times when she has the curse. A woman wants a man who'll let her serve his every need, Someone to sit by meekly while he surfs on his TV. For serving men is what women do when they want to be fulfilled. It isn't much, I realize now, but it makes them thrilled. So, thank you ladies for teaching me what it takes to be a man, I thought you'd say romantic things are what you understand. What's that you say? I didn't hear a single word you said? Of course I did, little girls, its all inside you heads. Now you just go run along and talk of babies and clothing sales, While we men continue to serve your needs, and fix whatever ails. We will take good care of you while you wait on us day and night, After all, you are our women, and it is our right. What??? There were lots of explanantions?? And now Lorelei is gonna hear about this??? Just a minute, ladies - let's not be rash and do something foolish here. Think about this a little more. There's no need to tell Lorelei ... she's a good girl and doesn't need to worry her little head about this silly poem... now does she??? Good girls.. whew... for a minute there I thought these gals were gonna tell Lorelei. I gotta be more careful about who I stir up around here |
