If I die remember me with a smile My laughs, my charms, my clutzy ways The hysterical laughter I was prone to My shyness, the hurt hid inside My meanness to those who were different Do not idealize me I am no more or less than what I am A human who loves to live And sleep in Take long drives and cuddle close Handle animals, play with hair Most of all, I am human Prone to mistakes I wish I hadn't made And apologies I've made Friends I hold dear Those who are better far away The love of a new day But the regret of yesterday So if I die, do not idealize me I am no more and no less than what I am Right now Time flies? Say it not so, time stays we go. |

C~ I enjoyed this very much and can see why it is your favorite. and i agree. we each are only human and are who we are. we can't be someone we are not. i always say be true to thy self and you can not fail. it's when we go against who we are that true failure is achieved. that's just my philosophy anyway. great poem! take care. amy "Don't be dismayed at goodbyes. A farewell is before you can meet again. And meeting again after a moment or a lifetime is certain for those who are friends." "Fate exists but it can only take you so far, Because once you're there It's up to you to make it happen." |

Well said, Cuddlez. I believe the people who are true in life are remembered that way. The key, I suppose, is to leave a mark; any mark while you are here. Being gone is not nearly as dreary as being forgotten. Nicely written! Trew. |
