Beyond The Primrose Hedge
~*Marge Tindal*~

Stepping lightly 'neath the arbor
quickly to fences' edge
She swiftly disappeared
beyond the primrose hedge

Deep into the forest
entering the little glen
Wanting to find her lover
the chances were so slim

He came to her one year ago
when oleander bloomed
The love within his heart
soon her heart consumed

They frolicked among the daffodil
the daisies on the green
Stood in fragrant meadow
touching ever-seem

Butterflies fluttered by
agile fragile-winged
Oh, the dainty meadowlark
did melodic sing

Captured in the rapture
when evening faeries flew
Lay they down in buttercup
sprinkled with the dew

He held her in his arms
Enchanted was the night
Held her close in warmth of love
until the morning light

Kissed her softly on the cheek
his love he did pledge
Walked her to the fence line
beyond the primrose hedge

Nightly she returned
looking for her love
Not knowing he had gone
to the heavens above

For after that evening one year ago
the angels called him home
Held his face in smiling
Never more would he roam

Loyalty as her blanket
she summons faeries bright
Lays among the buttercup
each and every night

No longer able to bear the sorrow
she steps closer to the ledge
Falls in arms of angel
beyond the primrose hedge

Fairytales are made
of romance such as this
Beyond the primrose hedge
one last - lasting kiss

Marge - terrifically romantic poem - a real tear-jerker - great verses (of course, if it was Toerag she met, he might have just been faking his demise so he could play the field - he is truly a rascal).

Marge,

So beautiful and full of devotion at its best.  Sigh....she'll just have to hang on to those memories, then he'll always be there with her.  Great writing my friend.

Marge.....Words fail me, this is just fabulous, perhaps the best I have seen of your work to date. It amazes me that you just seem to go one better every time your pen touches paper. Excellent!
