I reach out to you
Through the barriers of space and time
Never thought it would be possible
After you had died

Could it really be your voice
Cominf through the darkness
How I longed to hear that sound
Like music that I wished to hear

At first I doubted it was you
But now I am convinced
I warn you of your impending demise
Which alters all events

We work hard to make things right
Not an easy road that we take
But in the end the outcome stands
At last I reach out and take your hand

This is the present I longed to have
All those years without you here
Darkened the days and haunted the nights
Fought to save you with all my might

I am so thankful for this time
Your light has such a bright shine
Lights up my saddened heart
Like you always did from the start

This is just something I came up with after seeing the movie Frequency last weekend.  Kind of made me think about life and death....if such a realization is indeed possible as it was in the movie.

Something in this made me sad. Made me want to cry. Effective writing.

Nothing can deter a poet, for he is actuated by pure love. Who can predict his comings and goings? "Thoreau"

Lone Wolf,

I wanted to see this movie before I read this poem...but now I REALLY want to see it

This in my opinion (for what it's worth) is, by far, your best work

Excellent poem for all my opinion is worth which is probably less than Lone Wolf's

It has a very sad tone to it yet it instills that little bit of hope we all need to make it through the loss of a loved one

once again an excellent poem

LoneWolf~
I haven't seen the movie,
but I have 'seen'.

Powerful thoughts, nicely done.

How strange you would write this piece at this time Lone Wolf.  Someone told me just a few days ago that they had seen the movie too.  He said he thought it would be something I would like.  You certainly caught my attention with this poem......well done!

Wow LoneWolf - such a lot of insight.
Death - we each die a little more from
the moment of birth, yet it is such a
tough subject for so many.

Beautifully done. I have not seen the movie
either.

netswan...

Thanks my friend!!!!  Great movie if you're looking to get away from that computer for a while!!!  I agree we all die a little at a time....the final death is just the end of that.
