Songbird

Bring back the harmony
    of my universe, my song
             my dawn, for I have
  no place to melt

      the violins and flutes
          of my soul
               play the melodies
            and my heart
     the severe stroke
        of a drum

my head, heavy with
   chorus sings and shouts
       "about the way things are,
    how they've been
and how they'll be"

my voice a
       cry of birds,
           will call for you ….

   the songbird,
                of my heart

Bring back the harmony
    of my universe, my song
             my dawn, for I have
  no place to melt

well I am tone deaf, and can't play a musical instrument so I guess my life song would be a life poem. A lovely poem, remember to sing everyday.

"Thinking, long ago when we were young and free
Love happened easily
And dreams never died, life sung a pretty song" Chanson D'amour

Then work came and made us free
What price now for a shallow piece of dignity"
Nicky Wire, A design for Life.

"Rock 'n' roll is our epiphany
Culture, alienation, boredom and despair"

DarkAngel~
There is a light shining in your poetry.
This is wonderfully written.

What beauty in this verse -

'Bring back the harmony
    of my universe, my song
             my dawn, for I have
  no place to melt'

I so greatly enjoyed this one.

I really love this poem for it's dark side and for the hope in it.  Very well written and expressed, it is unique and emcompasses so much. Beautiful lines!  You have successfully convinced the reader of the intense longing, a beautiful and bittersweet longing at that.  Wow!  I often feel like this.  Excellent title and ending.

Take care,

Breath-taking!  You have such a way with words.  You are able to take the reader with you wherever your mind wanders and it's a fascinating journey!

I agree with Krista! YES! You do have talent!
You have that unique way of putting words that says so much...you leave one speechless. I need my dictionary to find new words to express how FANTASTIC your writing is.
