She bathes my heart in smile, a sun-lit field of free. Her loving mind an isle, dip't in eternity. And in her charming grace, she reaches out to hold Lost dreams I thought erased into the pasts of old. Like a feather falling, her words float through my mind. In whisp'red words calling, her hopes for me to find. Can this feeling be, the beatings of a "care?" How is it I can see, a life in living shared? A whiff of roses blue each time I touch her soul, Shows unto me of true love's e'er enticing pull. E'en were I to deny new faith upon my lips, My heart longs only try... imagining her kiss. Yearn I only touch her silken wisps of joy. Drink in of it as such fantasies would employ. Rare in each life, I think, a kindred soul draws near. Erecting friendship's link, dissipating tears. A single breath of light, she's likened to the sun. My days await her night in mem'ries just begun. Still naught is e'er perfect, for the world's full of pain. Of mem'ries and regret, of aching heart's refrain. Few hearken this as so, not her, she understands. Your life "goes as it goes," you live it as you can. Oh an' I could tell her, or that she'd only see- Undaunted, now I'm sure, I want her life with me. |

Chris, I don't know who this lucky lady is, but this takes my breath away, so I know it will hers....This was so tender and sincere. I only hope she loves you as much as I do! You look good, in love. |

It is within the kindred soul that one shall find purity of heart and love. Your writing gave me a bit of a stir, Christopher, dear. Thank you. (I needed that) ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

This, my friend, is a poem worthy of your exceptional talent. The meter is well-done, the content consistent and unfaultingly poetic, and the rhyme nearly impeccable. Oh yeah, and did I mention the acrostic...? This is the sort of quality work that earned you my respect (dubious honor though that may be -- LOL). 'Twas truly a pleasure to read. --Me Full fathom five thy father lies, Of his bones are coral made, Those are pearls that were his eyes; Nothing of him that doth fade But doth suffer a sea-change Into something rich and strange... --William Shakespeare, from The Tempest |

Just know that any dream is worth chasing and one like this is worth the pain. Loving, even if it is lost, is what completes us. Believe me my friend, true love is worth the risk and the time it takes to come back to you. |

Hey Chris, YES, Chase those dreams and never stop! What can I say, this is beautiful and heartfelt. Who ever this soul is, she is very lucky to have some one like you dreaming of her. If I had someone like this, I wouldn't be "Burning Bridges" right now. Great job! |

Thank you everyone for your tender replies! Gen- Luck is a lady who loves everyone. I'm glad to hear you don't hate me! Claire - Kindred souls indeed... tough to find. Occasionally we do, and they're notmeant to be. Ces't la vie. Loving is still a beautiful thing Marie - Chasing you? Hmm.. now WHY would do that? Kess - (speechless) Irie - Burning bridges creates a vaccuum in our lives which I believe only rebuilding them can repair. Love can fix many a broken thing. |

A true work of art! An acrostic like that is difficult-you did it wonderfully! |
