Life is A Dance

We hear the music
begin to play
we find each other
we start to sway.
Side stepping obstacles
we talk while we dance
gazing into each other's eyes
as if in a trance.
As partners in life
we maneuver across the floor
bumping into people
but each other we adore.
We've come to know
the meaning of love
we've felt it delivered
from up above.
Life is a dance
we are waltzing along
till we hear
the end of the song.

~Lorraine~

Rather interesting poem.
Would that be considered to be a metaphysical poem?

Have you ever read John Donne?  I'm presently in a highschool english literature course...

What's that song?

Oh yes,
"Life's a dance, you learn as you go. . ."

Came right to mind with this poem. . . excellent Lorraine!!

Life is a dance

the end of the song.

Life is that too!!! another beauty of life emphasised by your beautiful poem, Lorraine.

Regards, sudhir

Hey you, out there in the cold,
Getting lonely, getting old, can you feel me?
Hey you, standing in the aisle,
With itchy feet and fading smile, can you feel me?
Hey you, don't help them to bury the light.
Don't give in without a fight.
Hey you, out there on your own,
Sitting naked by the phone, would you touch me?
Hey you, with your ear against the wall,
Waiting for someone to call out, would you touch me?
Hey you, would you help me to carry the stone?
Open your heart, I'm coming home....

I hear the music Lorraine and hope the song never ends...

"gazing into each other's eyes
as if in a trance."

Love that part, captures the emotions in a beautiful way...

Now, the song I hear playing is, "May I have this dance, for the rest of our lives"  what a sweet poem with a lovely love-theme.  Enjoyed!

Lorraine,
Beautiful expression of life and having someone to spend it with.  Hope this is your reality.
