That look, cold and dark Those eyes, can't escape Dark, deep, bottomless Unmoving, expressionless No hint of feelings No emotion, just emptiness That haunting blackness Beckoning, ever watchful Am I the only one who sees? God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |

EagleOne~ Haunting eyes ... forbidding the spirit of another to gaze deep within. Wow, you captured them perfectly. Nice job .. simple and straight-forward. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

I think eyes can often tell you the most about a person, windows to the soul, a cliché but in a lot of cases it is true. For instance when I was younger I was never able to make direct eye contact with people when talking to them, lack of confidence, insecurities but now I ma more confident but still people joke about the way I often seem to stare into space, when I slip away into my own head to think for awhile. I guess what I am saying is eyes say a lot. my point have not a clue...great poem made me think and rant a bit. |

Marge..."forbidding the spirit of another to gaze deep within" Yes, that is it exactly! Thanks for reading and your comment. Brian.....this one makes me think alot, thanks for reading, and rant on all you like. Kit..Windows on the soul indeed, but still they have to want you to see in. Poet deVine.....I describe them well because I too have seen them. thanks, your comments are appreciated. God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |
