The time came for me to choose Whether love would win or lose I stood at the fork in the road Considering the weight of the load Evaluating the condition of each path If I choose wrong can I withstand the wrath That will befall my fateful decision Bringing me yet more indecision The path to the left looked groomed and clean Thick lush grass grows so very green Flowers and butterflies abound Birds provide the harmony of sound I am tempted by the beautiful sight And the warmth of the sunlight Not a cloud in the sky If I don't go this way then why? The path to the right was overgrown and rough This way looks to be very tough Can barely tell which way it goes Where I'll end up nobody knows Branches and brush cover the trail Reminds me of searching for the Holy Grail Though not easy I choose the road less traveled Hope my dreams do not become unraveled Thank you to Jeffrey for yet another title and challenge!!! Though not easy I choose the road less traveled Hope my dreams do not become unraveled ----------- Jeffery just keeps cranking out the challenges and you keep cranking out the poems!! perfect word choices here LW. ahhh how wonderful to be so inspired, later gator jm Some things cannot be explained by verses that rhyme, They are not measured by the commitment of time. Enjoyed reading...wonderful job. The road doesn't always seem so clear to me. The Road Less Traveled is also an interesting book by M. Scott Peck, M.D. James |

Lone Wolf~ I love this one! Very powerful imagery, and it really makes me think. I believe that sometimes I need to take the road less travelled.
