I've looked for her,
on every street and pathway,
in every town,in every city.
I hear the muttered words they say,
furtive glances my way,
thats him,thats the one,
he's looking for the Woman with Angels in her eyes.

Youll see me,
standing in the dusk scanning the street,
coat turned up to hide the desperation in me,
hands thrust in pockets,
but Im not lost thanks,
oh no,
Im no sad bastard,
no way.
I've seen her,she's as real as you and me.

I walked into the coffee shop one fine day,
just killing the day the way you do,
sat down and ordered before I took in the scene.
She was the first thing I saw when I looked up,
I dont mind telling you,
my day froze,my heart froze.

It wasnt she was the most beautiful woman Id ever seen,
she was lovely,have no doubt,but it was something other
which took me,
for you see,
she had Angels in her eyes,
sounds crazy I know,
but I could see them,
just.....see them there,
and the joy I felt to see those Angels
was beyond any sensation Ive had
before or since.

I got up {I never do things like this}
and walked over to her.
She wasnt looking at me,
but she sensed my approach and smiled.

I stopped at the edge of her table
like a dork asking the prom queen for a date,
my heart was in my throat.
I started to speak,to ask her about the Angels
clearly floating in her eyes.
She stopped me with a glance though,
the words died in my mouth as she said...
Angels on you fool
for all your days,
Angels on you.

I couldnt speak,couldnt move
but I saw the Angels come to me
and wrap me in their love,
and I was elation
and I was protected,
and I was changed forever.

As I stood there trying to grasp
the revelation,she got up,
touched me gently on the arm,and walked away.
I could not follow,
I couldnt even draw breath,
and the Angels sang to me
and filled me with their light.

And my days past
and my nights became days,
and I walk now everywhere,
looking for her,
looking for the Woman,
with Angels in her eyes,
just like mine.

What a totally enchanting render from
your pen of talent.
You mesmerize me with the story
as much as the 'Woman With Angels In Her Eyes' must have mesmerized you.
Keep your eyes open ... she's there.
