I'm Sorry...Now |

Saying, “I’m sorry”, comes easy I’m told- For some people maybe that’s true. Maybe, “I’m sorry”, had power to change… The problems I once had with you. Those two little words, are all that it takes- To sometimes, make right; things, gone wrong. Two words, or a thousand, that I wouldn’t say… And now, I have waited too long. I’m sorry, my dear, that my heart was so hard- My pride so unyeilding, and cold… I would not bow, so I broke in the end, Now sorrow is taking it’s toll. I’m sorry I hurt you. I did not intend- To bring any pain to your heart. But drifters and losers, good husbands don’t make- We both should have known from the start. I promised to show you the world, and I did. One that, you never had seen. The side, which is sordid, most people keep hid- The one of which you’d never dreamed. I’m sorry, you’re gone now, and I’m all alone. My selfishness brought on this state… I’m sorry, so sorry, how easy it comes- Now that I know it’s too late. |

Excellent writing. I too had a hard heart and lost a woman I loved. I remain sorry that I couldn't say it than and even though its not too late to say it now I missed the opportunity to say it at the correct time. James |

Gunslinger, you sure have a talent with your pen - This is a sad tale of woe - of regrets. and well written. Enjoyed. ~netswan |

Those two words are probably the hardest in the world to say. It's a shame, though, because they have so much power in them. Great poem, John! Denise |
