The Doll on the Street Corner

There once was a doll who was left on the street,
left there by his master with nothing to eat.
To everyone who passed the little doll would moan,
"Please help me, please help me, please give me a home
my master has left me to fend for my own."
Nobody would listen, Nobody even cared
They just went on walking like he wasn't even there.
He cried out to a boy for just one last try
"Please help me little boy I'm sure I will die."
The little boy ran screaming and shouting in fear
"Ya right little doll I'm out of here!"
The little doll hung his head and sadly said
"No one will love me I'm better off dead."
To his amazement another boy walked by,
He looked up and pleaded with a tear in his eye.
"Please help me, please help me, please give me a home
my master has left me to fend for my own."
The boy looked down with a smile on his face
he said, "Sure little doll just come to my place."
As they were walking early the next day,
the little doll heard somebody say
"Please help me, please help me I'm sad and alone
my friends have all left me and I've lost my way home."
When they did find him it was to the doll's surprise
It was one of the kids who ignored all his cries.
"Do you remember me little boy, the one you denied
I sat on the street corner, you laughed and I cried."
The little boy sat there and cried, "What should I do?"
The doll said, "Do unto others as you would want others to do for you."

"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
