There's need and greed.
And what's lost between.
Building walls of microwaves.
Tombs of TVs.

And where we end our lives...
Confined, dispersed or free?
Clinging grimly to the things we "won".
Or smiling, holding a loving hand.

It's ours to understand,
to find our way.
Or lose it,
in a blizzard of shiny toys.

We can Be.
We can Have.
Is there really in-between?

Stay grounded and safe.
Build the inevitable walls?

Or fly?

Wonderful and thought-provoking reminder to enjoy the intangibles, and not the materials of our world ... thank you for the lovely reminder Allan. Nicely written.

Best wishes,
/Kit

There's need and greed.
And what's lost between.
Building walls of microwaves.
Tombs of TVs.

Wrapped in a blanket of money, tv distractions sedated into slavery,

sorry thinking aloud again. enjoyed your poem. a great comment of materialism.

poem and written with care --)

I would fly free --and have, and will

Thank you all very much!

The poem was inspired by a Doreen Peri's wonderful poem 'Stuff' on the same theme, posted to 'Critical Analysis' this week.
