Sleepless Nights ~A midnight whisper to a hollow soul~ ~Sleepless encounters continue to haunt~ ~Walking through minds overwhelmed~ ~Pressing heat against dying skin~ ~Analizing, pondering,...stretching~ ~Attempting to release all ties~ ~Needing rest from hardened times~ ~Vacant eyes stare into vacant space~ ~Energy drawn from bloodless veins~ ~Weakened and dark the night calls~ ~The soul empty, the eyes blank, the heart broken.~ |

What a wonderful discription of the blankness when you cannot form words or thoughts or ideas. You're numb with pain and anger. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem. |

When all emotions are spent....the living death. It does pass and the soul may be altered but does come back to live and love again...if we allow it. ***Susie*** |

Now this is an absolute jewel of a poem! I've had many a night just like the one you've described here. Though I must admit, many of mine carried over into the days as well. ~Vacant eyes stare into vacant space~ Indeed. "Is there a cure among us For this processed sanity?" ~Collective Soul~ |

this is fabulous work! I hope the fog clears for you soon. take care! God grant me the serenity to accept the people I cannot change, the courage to change the one I can, and the wisdom to know it's me. ~Unknown |

SpitFire~ I LOVE the way you formatted these thoughts. 'Attempting to release' ... and when it's done, you will once again enjoy the sleep-filled nights with many dreams. Enjoyed. ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

~~nice writing~~ this poem carried some strong expression. A life isn't significant except for its impact on other lives. |

I had a late night last night and now I am really tired it is almost if I had no sleep at all, anyway sorry on to the point. midnight whisper to a hollow soul~ ~Sleepless encounters continue to haunt~ ~Walking through minds overwhelmed~ ~Pressing heat against dying skin~ ~Analizing, pondering,...stretching~ ~Attempting to release all ties~ ~Needing rest from hardened times~ ~Vacant eyes stare into vacant space~ ~Energy drawn from bloodless veins~ ~Weakened and dark the night calls~ ~The soul empty, the eyes blank, the heart broken.~ That was quite powerful, great poem. I hope things improve, and the sand man pays you visit tonight. ------------------------ "Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too? " Douglas Adams. Small Black Flowers That Grow In The Sky "You have your very own number They dress your cage in its nature Once you roared now you just grunt lame Pace around pathetic pound games Wanna get out won't miss you sensaround To carry your own dead to swing your tyre tricks Wanna get out here you're bred dead quick For the outside, The small black flowers that grow in the sky They drag sticks along your walls Harvest your ovaries dead mothers crawl Here comes warden, Christ, temple, elder Environment not yours you see through it all Wanna get out won't miss you sensaround To carry your own dead to swing your tyre tricks Wanna get out here you're bred dead quick For the outside, The small black flowers that grow in the sky Here chewing your tail is joy" Richey Edwards |

Loved it Spitfire, always look forward, no matter what...and love is always wonderful even if a fleeting thing at times...and the memories we dream in later life temper the pains of youth, though when in youth we fail to recognize the memories we're making. jwesley |
