sleep comes hard for some |

All credit to serenity for inspiring me with her hard-look poem (still full of beauty and yearning). -sleep comes hard for some- Pillow and heart: two stones set in the eyes of some dead god or other. Sleep comes hard for some. Heat making love to your body when you want to give it no access. But it beats the distress, and the leftover mess. Wanting to write about the passion of spring, but it wilted to playful ashes in the summertime heat. Playfulness played out; no extensions tonight. Glass coated in dust and the glare of the past that still sparks your reflection, imbues it with loss and a luster of hope to do better next time. Next time. Sleep comes hard for those who have no one close. Who flew from the ashes only to choke on the smoke. To learn the sentiment of love turns to sedimentary mud when things crack, break -- whose mistake fell too late? |
