Dance floor pulsing, starlight twinkling. I see an Angel, and get an inkling. It is a girl I know all too well, Who put me through emotional hell. My heart was stolen last November. The specific day, I don't remember. Though doomed to fail, I asked her out. She said no, and removed all doubt. Now she's the only one I do desire, One for whom I'd walk through fire. I would take a bullet to save her life. She would make the perfect wife. And now here I am, my Senior Ball. She doesn't seem to see me at all. I approach her, and ask for a dance. What possessed me to take this chance? She said yes, and I nearly cried. My dreams came true, I could have died happy and content, an Angel in my arms, who could protect me from all life's harms Hello everyone, sorry for being so absent in the last month or two, been busy with school and stuff, and spending very little time online with poetry, if any at all. This poem is written in response to my senior ball yesterday, where I got to dance a slow song with a girl I have been in love with since november, who wont go out with me. For the 2-3 minutes the song "You are so beautiful" was playing, I was in heaven, words cannot properly describe how it felt. [This message has been edited by Mistikman (edited 05-21-2000).] |

Oh, Mistik~ I'm so pleased for you. To have held her beauty in your arms for even a moment will be forever etched in your memory. Thank you for sharing this with me. I've missed you ... but do know how busy the youth of today can be preparing for tomorrow. Keep writing, you hear ? ! Mistikman, sometimes, 3 minutes can last a lifetime. . . I know. . . and to this day, I can never hear "Hold on to the Nights" by Richard Marx without being taken back to those 3 minutes. . . A superb poem my friend. . . keep dreaming. . . keep reaching. . . you'll get there. . . --------------------------------------------------------- That which gives light must endure burning --Victor Frankl |
