triple negative when his two year old brain grasped the power of no he latched on to it quickly made it his favorite he graces requests (and demands) with a very thoughtful mmmmmmmmmm beforehand, but the no always follows and when he learned that his no needed added emphasis in his struggle for power he added a huh uh and a head shake and finally in case you hadn’t noticed the first negative the second and the head shake he would add the third an emphatic nophing! (that’s "nothing" for those who don’t understand 2 year old) just cause he likes the sound of it case closed and my smile witnesses all of this even as his little hand betrays his words and reaches out in a yes [This message has been edited by Corazon (edited 05-16-2000).] |

Thanks for the refresher course...sometimes we need little reminders as to how precious even the little things can be, from time to time |

Childhood is always rushed these days, people seem to forget that children are not adults, the word no an adult world. I think children have the right idea about life, they seem to enjoy it to its full...until someone says NO or STOP. great poem. [This message has been edited by brian madden (edited 05-16-2000).] |

impossible not to love this one! I can see the little tyke shaking his head and saying NO and uh-uh while reaching out to you. What a precious moment and you captured it so well. Funny how, even as adults, we sometimes say no when we want so much to mean YES...... |

You have portrayed the learning of language, the beauty of a child growing, and the reality of human nature all in a very succinct, well written piece! Well done, Corozan! I love it! |
