state of confusion

Where It Lies

Years tossed away over us,
we assumed we were in love,
now we see with crystal clarity,
it was not what we had dreamed of.

Still, we settled for a while,
though we grew to be numb,
helpless hearts downcast,
in despair we did succumb.

I pray I’m a wiser woman,
better acquainted with self,
for courage is my new ally,
no longer upon your shelf.

I never felt your rhythms
you closed them off to me,
so I responded in kind,
love left when we let it be.

Healing has only begun,
accepting that love dies,
as we start lives over,
and leave it where it lies.

Full of hope and strength, Corrine...life moves on and every door that closes holds a lesson...if you look.

C,
I LOVE this poems wisdom...
and the sweetly melancholy feel of its emotions.
this one hits home for me in many ways.
another perfect poem from you,
take care,jm

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

When we step out of the comfort of our own boat.....Up and over the rim to the water that lies before us....it is then that we find the greatest events to come....for they were never known to us until we take the step to be what we know we can be...and to make life happen for us.  Like this and this poem you have begun that trip that makes us who we are today....to prepare us for tommorrow.  Heart felt movement in these verses.....Best of wishes to you and God Bless

A man does not love a woman because she is beautiful...But she is beautiful because he loves her.

Oh, the road does get rocky sometimes and other times we lose our way or make a wrong turn or two, but the important thing is that no matter what we continue on and hopefully we learn from the past to make the future a better place. Healing is sometimes a slow process but not all scars are a bad thing.  Sad, but lovely poem

Life and love sometimes teach us some hard lessons. This is wonderful writing, Corinne, as always!

It seems that it happens all too often. I really don't like being a part of those stats. Seeing a brand new sunrise is what keeps us hoping I think. Very real words here my friend.
