~ Willowglades ~ Crickets chirping near the river hauntingly they sing - cool night air makes me shiver warmed by mere moonbeam. Quiet waters bubbling smooth beckon me along - the sounds of night time, how they soothe, luring me with song. I tiptoe through the willowglades in search of elfin lad - his voice, my heart he serenades although, it leaves me sad... Been searching for him many years a wizard cast a spell - and now he still cries human tears his soul condemned to hell. A handsome lad was he, they say but now he hides alone - the spell took all his charm away true love, he's never known... He lives here in these Willowglades afraid though, to be seen - and through the night, this river wades, his tears, they flow serene... I walk the banks in search of him for I can break this curse - Although his love I have to win with serenading verse... As I walk, my voice rings sweet I sing to him my song - of how our souls are meant to meet, together - we belong... A rustling in the underbrush I hear a young man's cry - I stop and listen with a hush, and then he whispers, "Why?" Again I sing with sweetest charms, as words cannot be spoken - Longing for him in my arms, I wish this curse be broken... So near he is - I hear his heart - beating like a drum... "No one, this love, shall tear apart, with song to you I come." 'Twas then I saw his elfin eyes now flowing fast with tears - The river here was made by him, his crying, all these years... I held my breath & saw his hand clenched tight, reach out for me - I pulled him up, and saw him stand His face, I could not see... He pulled me close to kiss his lips, he took my breath away - The spell was broken instantly In Willowglades that day...... ~~~~~~~~~ -poetFemme April 18, 2000 |

WOW, Gen ! What an amazing story and you tell it so beautifully. I could see the river , hear the crickets and that sweet voice of yours. I swear I could even hear it when he whispered "why". This is amazing work. Jeffrey |

Sigh... whispers of a well done here, because it would seem irreverent to break such an enchanting mood with a voice in louder tones! |

Jeffrey - - I am honored you enjoyed it so much! When I first started writing - I only had one thing in mind - the elfin lad. I had no idea where it was gonna go...somehow, it just all unraveled...slowly, I might add! Thank you! serenity - - I love the hobbit, although, can you believe I never finished it in school? I should do that I suppose! lol netswan - - *curtsies* Glad you liked it! Thanks! Christopher - - Well, holy Mary, look who just graced me with his presence, and so reverently so! ROFL at you T-boy. (raising eyebrow...) Michael - - One of my favorites so far too. Was really hard to write for some reason. Struggled with the rhyme scheme on such a long piece, especially trying to tell it as a story. Argh! I laugh at the "inspiration" though...Who the heck you think he is? $500 bucks if you're right, and when I'm Rich ! HA Richter 9 - - Speaking of you, Rich, (LOL) ....okay, I'll stop laughing now and just say...uh...which of your two poems DID I inspire? HHhhhm? BOTH? Sey - - There's my Sey! Man, I miss you in between comments! *curtsies to you sir* Thank you. Well folks, this poem here gave me a near mental breakdown trying to write it! SIGH...My pen is pooped. Glad to see all the trolls and folks stop by to read this humble piece. LOL (any elves here?) LOL Nnnaaaawww... |

WOW just doesn't seem to cover it. This is just fabulous. As Satiate has said entrancing i think is the right word. I loved it. Not all those who wander are lost. ~J.R.R. Tolkien |

Robert - - LOL I think you're losing it in your old age! I got an email from you that you wrote to someone else! LOL Now who is old?? Mike - - From you sir, and the writer that you are, that is a compliment indeed! Thank you. Sven - - I started a new job, where basically, they pay me to sit and write for 8 hours...Unfortunate for you people, I'll have much more to share now! WhiteNite - - I bow to you sir...actually, in here, you can always go back and find older poems from an author you like. Go to the top of most screens, and you'll see a search option. Use that to find certain poems, or certain authors. Also, at the top of your poem list screen, in the upper left corner, you can change your setting for how many days back you want to look, and it gives you more page numbers at the bottom to click on. You even have the option to view the entire forum! All topics...Ron has these forums set up where all poems are always accessible, no matter what forum or how far back. Just use your search option like I said. Now you have no excuse for ever letting a poem "slip by" you! LOL (big grin) I'll be in touch soon!! EagleOne - - *curtsies* to you! I am so glad you read my works, and enjoy them. Thank you!! |

Femme, Alright... So it slipped by me and I'm late as so many times before please do forgive your headed back up above. Nice work for a brunett. If I could paint a portrait, of this life in which I've led, and somehow sketch a story, of the visions in my head, I'd start out with a canvas, stretched tightly in a frame, and in the bottom corner, I'd leave room to sign my name.
