Here is our challenge to all poets!!!  Jeffrey and I challenge you to write a poem about new horizons.  So to start things off, my co-writer and I came up with this.  Hope you enjoy!!

"New Day Dawning"
I awoke this morning to a brightly shining sun
Drew in a deep breath anticipating fun
Can't recall the last time the sky seemed so bright
It's infinite beauty was an awe inspiring sight

Eagerly anticipating what's in store for me today
Not going to let the past stand in my way
Looking out into the future and all that it may hold
No longer to be bound up, breaking out of that mold

I am free of the chains that had me bound so tight
Alas, I am moving on, so tired of that winless fight
A new beginning is mine, mine to shape and mold
There's a new day dawning, the story's yet untold

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I would like to thank Jeffrey for co-writing with me again.  We make a great team, m'friend!!

I will merely say Amen, here.  Tomorrow is indeed a new day and no-one knows what the future holds...  Sometimes things have to get real dark before we can appreciate the light...  Wonderful poem you two.

Ok.. I accept!!

and my submission is. "higher ground"
www.mp3.com/kaylynn

this song describes how sometimes you have to get away from people who are trying to keep you at their level....

even if it's someone you look up to.

and a certain point you have to say to yourself.. "i'm better than this!"

Take a listen.. maybe you will agree

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

I think I should explain the challenge in a little more detail.

The challenge is to write a poem on the subject of new horizons or new beginnings. A brighter tomorrow. I hope this clarifies it a little....I'm sure most of you already knew, just wanted to make sure everyone did

Lone Wolf....I enjoy writing with you...We are on the same page so to speak...take care m'friend

All my love,
Jeffrey

But it can't be rushed. God, what a time for new horizons.......and hope.
where are my words? I think I will find them in the horizon....
