The Artist and The Poet

Brilliant reds and Indigo blues
Yellows remain vibrant hues
splashes of color or finest line
discussion heard among the wine.

Colors forward, forth, in my face
frantic the artist in his haste
to leave his mood before he departs
his lifeblood becomes his art.

~~~
In room dusty, books shelved long
thoughts lay hidden but for a hand
to remove and lift cover from life
between the sheets to be explored on demand
Here to be read into force the poet's attempt
to impart color to the blind, in voice
rich with timbre, to impart feelings heard
with the thrust of tongue, speak the written word.
~~~

This is lovely, and such a great
comparison.

You've captured my two greatest loves Sunshine ... the paintbrush and the pen have always been my "releases" in life. What a wonderful comparison, I understood this well ...

Best wishes,
/Kit

You certainly painted a beautiful picture, you are a true artiste.

If you can call animation an art and me a poet then I guess I am both an artist and a
poet.

For me when I write I think visually which would explain why my poems are often descriptive rather than atmospheric and emotional.

Excellent Sunshine!!  Now, if I could only get a pen that paints, I'd be in business!!

Speaks to the way that writing and art go hand in hand. . .as poets, I feel that we do indeed "paint" with our words, you have caputred this well. . .

Wonderful my friend. . .

As artist and poet (well somewhat poet) I can only say sweet this poem of yours. Your words are so well chosen. I enjoyed it very much

 The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

How did I miss this one????

Great stuff as usual...

The poet's muse,
turns up true blues,
The artist's brush,
Could even paint a crush.

Gifted is the artist,
the gift is to the art,
Works of a poet,
Brings words to a thought.
------
I am delighted by this one, sunshine...

Warm Regards,
Sudhir

 Life is like a painting,
That in an art gallery is left hanging,
Though many come just to look at it,
A very few actually come to enjoy it.
