Numbness Within
i'm drowning in a lake of uncryable tears
i wish things to remove the guilt i bear
if all my heart wanted was to be loved
why can't it give that emotion in return?

like the walls of jerusalem, i am numb within
the guilt of love, is my cross for sin
the hole in the hand, the strangers apart
i wish i wasn't scared, i wish i had a heart.

It is alright to be scared and you just proved you have a heart, otherwise how could you express something so tender and beautiful.

"like the walls of jerusalem, i am numb within
the guilt of love, is my cross for sin"
excellent image, thanks for sharing. I don't believe that you are numb within, in your words I can feel emotions bubbling and swirling I look forward to reading more of your poetry.
