The Song a Caged Bird Sings

    Release these wings
      so I may fly
        among the eagles
          high in the sky

    where the air is clear
      and big jets roar
        release these wings
          so I may soar

    to those distant places
       that i long to see
         easily taken there
           on wings set free

     behold the beauty
       from the flight of wings
          and hear the music
            that a free bird sings

     on feathered wings spread
       toward heavenly space
         showing the splender
           of nature's grace

      release me now
        from this prison of wire
          and behold the majesty
            of my winged desire

      sunward i'll climb
         thru clouds surround
            to a sea of tranquility
               where freedom is found

       I'll chase the wind
          dance thru halls of air
            and reveal my form
              while hovering there

        upward i'll climb
           thru an endless blue
             where only lark
                and eagle have flew

         and in the silence
            of the fading day
               i'll bid you farewell
                 as i fly away

This is beautiful, and so sad.  It makes me want to open that little barred door!

come close to how wonderful this is!
I love this!!!!!

Danny this is beautiful, the words are flow freely like the flight of that bird.  You have a gift to weave...thank you for sharing it.

Danny~

Exquisitely this one soars.

The majestic beauty of the eagle
soaring to heights beyond our reach ...
taking our hearts and our hopes with him on winged thought.

Wonderful, my friend.

Sincere and consistent ... methinks we all need a dose of flight now and then, if only in moderation ...

Those are pearls that were his eyes;
Nothing of him that doth fade
But doth suffer a sea-change
Into something rich and strange...

Want to say thanks to all who responded.  Especially to Janet Marie and Marge Tindal who write some of the nicest responses in Passions.  Think most of you would agree!
and, thanks to Butteries for the Mariposa!
