I find myself
down by the Sea
so many emotions
waiting to be free

Needing to feel nothing
if only for a while
here by the water
looking for my smile

The overcast sky
seems to understand
offering me the rain I love
as a helping hand

A strong wind blowing
soothing this heart I bare
crying out emotions
I came here to share

As rageing waves crash down
each one seems to say
slow down my child
all will be okay

Healing water rushes
back and forth and all around
in all my glory at the ocean
my smile once again is found.

Ah the sea - has been my friend and foe
you sound like you live in my town
near Seattle

Lovely poem - and I sure can relate
to the ocean and the calming peace it
brings.

Netswan~ I don't live in Seattle, down in California. I'm actually in the mountains now, I used to live a stone's throw from the ocean, it always heals me. Glad you liked this-thanks. -SEA

excellent as always Sea, you do such a great job writing about your love--the waters of ocean and sea...
very nice.

 It's amazing
How you make your face just like a wall
How you take your heart and turn it off
How I turn my head and you lose it all ...
And it's unnerving
How one move just puts me by myself
There you go just trusting someone else
Now I know I put us both through hell ...
I'm not sayin
That there was nothing wrong
I just didn't think you'd ever get tired of me
And I'm not sayin
We ever had the right to hold on
I just didn't wanna let you get away from me.

Sea you write my emotions
I need to go there, to forget, to let the raging waters calm and bring smiles again.
This touched me deep down today! Thank you!
I think I will go find some serenity in the yard today if I can find a moment.

~~nice writing Sea~~
Your so lucky to be living by an ocean.  Such solace it brings to just listen and feel the strength and comfort of the vastness of it all.

~Sea,...I loved this. I too have gone to the ocean to find this....if this is what you have done and not a metaphor   Anyhow,..it's great writing...heartfelt and uplifting knowing you found your smile.  I recently wrote a poem called "secrets" in the dark room...it has similarities. (SP)

This is lovely Sea...what better place for a woman named Sea to go for relaxation and healing than to the sea.  I love walking on the sand, and swimming, and diving, and sunbathing.   James

There is definitely something about the sea, isn't there.  I, too, spent a number of years , and only minutes from the ocean and never tired of it.  Now I live close to the Gulf and it's just not quite the same as the ocean, the Pacific (been around the Alantic too) Ocean in particular.  Nice poem...brings back memories.

No matter where I may roam
Or wherever I may be,
The sea, the sea,
The beautiful sea,
Will always be my home...

SEA - this was wonderful.  I am originally from Maine, but now live in the Midwest.  This makes me think back to those great days on the shore...
