Two car seats and child booster They got up so early to pack By the cockadoodle rooster Crying fighting hissing moaning From four corners of the car And if he hears just one more time The words “Daddy just how far” Daddy likes to speed he does Not afraid of the meany cops How can he make good time he says With blasted gotta pee pit stops And then it rains he’s gotta slow But the kids keep up their singing With the rain pounding hard he hopes No others will see him swinging Thank goodness for Mommies I say For when Daddies lose their cool I don’t know the unspoken words But I do know which one will rule Dumped daddy sits in a puddle Hoping they can hear his roaring One last song as the car wheels off A tune “It’s rain-ing it’s pour-ing” [This message has been edited by wayoutwalt (edited 05-12-2000).] |

Oh, my....you've got me laughing so hard with this one! Oh, how you've brought back the memories...especially with those "With the rain pounding hard he hopes No others will see him swinging" lines! Great work! Christina =^..^= |

Throw yore thumb out there, Walt...surely somebody will take pity on ya! This was a delight and a half...thanks! ~ Claire Could a greater miracle take place than for us to look through each other's eyes for an instant?......Henry David Thoreau |

Walt~ Lots of memories came riding back on this one. Many delightful trips with four rug-rats in tow ... singing, games, and the proverbial, 'How many more minutes ?' Loved it .... and you will too ! LOL ! ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ [email protected] |

Here's a secret defense, walt... Don't tell anyone though, OK??? In my family, when the kids said "Are we there yet?"... The standard answer was "Halfway".... whether we'd just left or were about to arrive.. Geesh we spent a lot of time being just "Halfway" to everywhere... |
