Lies Vs. Truth < !signature-->Amy M Kennedy I am but a woman who hides behind a mask Always joking, never wanting anyone to know the real me Pretending to be who you're not is a real task I jump through hoops of fire...when all I really want is for people to let me be Secrets I hide within my heart, never to let anyone know However inside of me the truth forever it shall grow Tears fall down my face, as they escape my eye Wondering if I'll ever truly know who I am...I let out a sigh Often times confusion rules my soul and heart Wondering when this game of pretend first got its start Maybe one day I will be happy, once my soul is free Until then I shall remain the same me I am...carrying on this facade of being so truly happy p.s. i apologize for the dreariness of this poem. i have hit a low spot, but im o.k. ~Live today as though it were your last but prepare for tomorrow as though it were here~ [This message has been edited by Aimster (edited 05-09-2000).] |

LOL Amy this is cute, but a poem with contradictions -----through the whole poem you tell us how you "pretend" then in the end tell us you are truthful. Got my funny bone. hehe, sorry - I hope it was meant to make me laugh. If not- we don't know why we start these facades in our lifes -- probably too many daggers got through and so we pretend to be happy and joke at life etc. so we don't get crushed again. Or, you see it in the people around you, and sense they are not what they portray. Either way, pretending is not the answer. Tell it like it is -----and enjoy watching the people's faces drop around you ---) netswan |

I jump through hoops of fire...when all I really want is for people to let me be hoops of fire, that is the perfect way of describing what your feeling. Great poem, I hope you feel better. Lucidity is the answer to all problems |

Amy~ sorry you're at a low spot, I hope it's better soon. I know for me to say to be who you are and to hell with everyone else would be easy, as I don't walk in you shoes, but you really should. -SEA |
