(My 500th post!) Restlessness has been a friend of mine It came to me quite fast Nights usually filled with resting sleep Are now filled with thoughts of the past I fell asleep at 5 last night And I can still recall The long, long night before When I didn’t sleep at all But sleep is such a far-off thing When thinking of the past A thing that can’t be changed, I know But thoughts of it still last And, then the most frightening part Of the long night’s deepening thoughts Are of the unsure road ahead And of battles that have to be fought The days don’t seem like days at all But fuzzy, shady dreams My whole world has turned upside-down And won’t return for awhile, it seems Restlessness is a friend of mine And probably will be for awhile Until my strength and hope returns Until I walk this mile < !signature--> "We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." -Oscar Wilde [This message has been edited by LoveBug (edited 05-04-2000).] |
