Where is she? |

Where Is She? Forsaken by my muse, I've been in tears. For days she has not answered to my call. Has she found other poets for her wares? Younger and fairer, who demand her all? We've worked together for these many years. I need but meditate and she'd be there, Heartening me and blotting out my fears. Indeed we were quite the enchanted pair. When I was young I wrote of love to come And then at later time of love's reward. Love sweet and juicy ripe as summer's plum. Lastly, I wrote of love lost to death's sword. When love is gone, what is there left to write? I search for subjects that will please my muse. How often can one speak of spring's delight? My talent's blighted by the lost love blues. Deserted now, I dare not lift my pen. The ink no longer flows in merry rhyme. Did she think I had lost my meter then? Found me unworthy of her gifted time? Dear Muse I beg you, nay I do beseech, Do not abandon mine for untried verse. Though fame and fortune's been beyond my reach, Mayhap your new poetaster could be worse! By Joyce: 6/10/02 |

*hugs* beautifully written, lots of emotion. I'm sorry you're feeling down, but it will get better =) You have an amazing amount of talent for one whose Muse has left her Tai |

Joyce: It doesn't appear that you need your muse after all, if this poem is a sample of your "solo" work! Nicely done. Betty Lou Hebert |

Joyce, methinks you may not need your muse! I recognize many of these thoughts....you've written a marvellous plea! Well done! Lary |

Sometimes the muse is just taking a well deserved break...to come back even stronger. IHOPoets, your Poetic Home |

A bit of irony here! Joyce. Since your muse is in full force as you have written so eloquently here! I do know the feeling though. Sometimes I feel that way too..but there is always a neww way of expressing the ways of nature. Hugs, Ellie A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

Joyce~ How delightful ~ The search party has obviously been successful in rounding up your muse~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |
