Soon they will appear. Elusive, Gossamer, Graces of Summer. Of all God's creatures, the butterfly, lifts the soul on wings, above our human boundaries, into the ethereal and beyond, to hopes horizons, and the Sunrise of purity, to the wonder of a child's heart! A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails. |

This is so lovely. The butterflys of my childhood were so numerous and they are so rare now. We have destroyed them. Joyce |

Ellie~ I 'knew' I would love this before I even opened it ... I was right ! And the butterflies are so numerous on the green lawns of Florida 'springing' ... they are certainly 'grace-on-wing'~ We have butterfly attractor flowers all over the acreage and what joy to see the lovely flitting about daily~ Thank you for these beautiful thoughts~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

ellie: lovely images here and I did enjoy it so much. We used to have clouds of Monarchs here, but for the last few years, since the loggers cut down their winter habitat in Mexico, we have none. Still get swallowtails and some other types, but not in the great numbers we once did. Betty Lou Hebert |

I love this little piece Ellie. To me, butterflies represent what is beautiful and graceful in the world. Thank you for sharing this. the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost |

Such grace, an elegant way to describe that beautiful creature the 'Butterfly.' Enjoyed the poem and look forward to more of your poetry. |

Lovely little poem, truly... but don't you think that they should have been named flutterbys. How on earth do they migrate for hundreds of miles, since their flight seems so directionless and at the mercy of the winds' whims. ~wranx "Writing is a perfectly natural thing to do....just remember to wash your hands afterward"....Heinlein. |
