My Own Pace

It’s time to let the hours swiftly pass along their way
Too weak to wrap my fingers round the moments of a day
Too wise to try to hold the flow of life as it unfurls
So swiftly under golden bridges, rushing water swirls

I used to savor setting suns that clung to mountain’s edge
I’d linger well beyond the crimson glow on field and hedge
But now it seems the sun moves faster round the spinning earth
As I try to grasp each holiday, each birthday, and each birth

With pace of daily rhythms I no longer can compete
My footprints mark a shorter distance tread by weary feet
The sands I walk are finer now, well filtered through life’s sieve
But come to me, for I still have a wealth of love to give

i can relate quite well to this. you have a wonderful way of expressing your thoughts, keep it up.
