Oh Golden Horse, You knew our destination from the start; Though often did we travel unmarked trails. You forged ahead, when I was faint of heart; An aimless sailing ship without the sails. There were times I went along just for the ride, And others that I more than urged you on. I found my way because you were my guide. Oh Golden Horse, I always had you to ride on. The way is straight, the end almost in sight; And I no longer care to query fate. Together we will charge into the night. I only know the day has gone, the hour is late. Are those the rosy streaks of early dawn? Will there be laurels at the finish gate? Oh Golden Horse, The race is done, all chances gone. By Joyce 02/04/01 |
