Stoic? I frolic in the deep deep bliss of something more obtuse than this a lover’s glance, a passing kiss, the times we missed, yet reminisced in would have could have beens— Not Stoic, No! The way back whens, when friends were friends, did all depend if one could spend or could not spend a nickel at the 5 and 10— Things where so much simpler then. Lighthouse Bob |

Sometimes I wish I lived in those simpler times--or that times were simpler now. ~sky I hope someday you get the chance to live like you were dying.... |

Times sure have changed that is true I have to really agree with you. I sound like my mother now more than she Sounded like her mother who sounds like me. The more things change the more they seem to stay the same Bob, just more expensive! |

~sky Thank you and, yes, I do think that perhaps for most people (me included) that youth was a time of much less stress and much more simplicity. Thanks again for reading and for your reply. -Bob |

Joyce, You know that your a true poet when even your replies rhyme. Smiles. What you have written is so true. In the orchards and the fields Fruits and veggies we did yield And as a family we were paid When together as one we stayed I remember as a young boy working in the walnut orchards in the Central Valley of California and I don't ever recall getting paid, but I do remember that we were so much closer then as a family. |

Thank you Betty Lou, It's real nice to be back here again and reading your poetry as well as everyone elses that I soooo remember reading and enjoying before I left to go back to college. I'm out for summer break and really enjoying all the poetry that I've read here. Thank you (Thank you) for your most kind Welcome Back. God bless. -Bob |

Sharon, I tend to agree with you also... but, I think perhaps you sounded more Like your mother did before She sounded like her mother When you both sounded like each other. Maybe??? Could have been??? One thing is for certain though.... Things have certainly gotten more expensive!!! Smiles. Thank you for stopping by and leaving your most kind reply. -Bob |

longte, Thank you. I appreciate that you thought that my poem flowed nicely and that you enjoyed the rhyme. It's kind of a personal challenge of mine to have my poems rhyme and to hopefully follow some sort of meter so that they will flow nicely. Perhaps I accomplished my goal here. Thanks again. -Bob |

Stoic care neither for responses nor gratitude. But good write anyhow. I speak insanity. I write fantasy. I sleep reality. |

Xeonox, Smiles. You're right, Xeonox, you're absolutely right! When I began writing this poem I was admittedly feeling a bit insensitive to all the "emotional" type poetry I had been reading here and I began wondering if perhaps I was one who had become "Stoic" or indifferent to pleasure or pain but as I continued writing I figured that I was not actually stoic because I did find some pleasure in thinking about the past.... Anyway, I'm Not (I'm Not) Stoic, Sooooo..... Thank You very very much for your most Gracious Response. Smiles. -Bob |
