Sojourn By the Sea If I could live where're I please, My name would ride the ocean breeze. My footprints show on every beach, Just beyond the wild waves reach. The tides would bring their gifts to me And leave them on the sand, to see. A piece of sea-glass, worn and old, I'd treasure like a piece of gold. The driftwood and the flotsam shown, Hold sea stories all their own. I love the flowered hills of June. The rising of September's moon. The winter storms, such awesome sights. The hush of surf, on peaceful nights. The convoluted shapes of shells. The call of foghorns and ship's bells. Each speaks to me in different ways. And adds their magic to my days. If I could hear the breakers roar Each time I step outside my door And smell the cool and briny air, I'd be content to sojourn there And count each day beside the sea A blessing God had given me! This is lovely. I have never felt the lure of the sea. But I know you do. Love, Joyce |
