The sky - a film of white upon shadow hovering sadly over darkened landscape. We travel amud clogged roadside edged by winters naked skinny hedges. Fields heavy with yesterdays rain puddle morosely like tear-soaked tissue. A group of blackened trees huddle darkly, spread, spindly fingers scratching the skyline. A freckling of birds dip and climb, like flecks of soot in the rising mist. A mood engulfs us upon this journey like a a melancholyblanket from above. As if the sun has forgotten us here, and the day dipped its brush in night. |
