And I cry,
you may call it self pity
I call it desperation.
Despair for all the effort I've made,
yet still I'm treading water,
nay, I'm sinking,
my perceived rock
is nothing more than quicksand.
My hopes and dreams
still remain wishful thinking,
but my years are outpacing my dreams
and my dreams are less hopeful.
A wilderness of fear looms before me
as advancing years create
the bars to my prison,
and my crime?
I wasn't successful.
Before me looms my sentence
as fairweather friends
turn their backs,
where I was welcome before,
I am welcome no longer,
where I was once a guest,
I am now an outcast,
where once I was trusted,
I am now cast in suspiscion.
The tunnel ahead of me
grows narrower
the light at the end
is fast disappearing,
where do I turn
before the light
goes out completely?
There are no exits,
I can't go back......
I'm afraid to go forward.
My jury of so called friends
have found me guilty
but I must be the judge
and decide my sentence,
my fate is in my hands.
Will my decision be shallow
like the verdict of my jury?
Or will it be the decision
of a desperate man?
Do I sentence on failure
or reaching for success?
Do I sentence on being a victim
or trying to be a victor?
The injustice of failure
shows no mercy,
shall I show mercy
or should I pass the ultimate sentence?
Do I wait for the light in my tunnel
to finally go out
before I know what I must do?

if this is something you are going thru...then i can only tell you to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and give it to God. Many miracles are worked when we are desperate. enjoyed this tho it made me sad.
